For a second season, GrowNYC Greenmarket will be returning to Socrates to serve the Long Island City and Astoria communities with farm-fresh fruits and vegetables and family-friendly activities. .  For over 30 years, GrowNYC has been working to promote regional agriculture, preserve farmland, and ensure a continuing supply of fresh, local produce for all New Yorkers.


Saturdays, June 23 to August 4 
As part of our current exhibition Civic Action, Greenmarket vendors will continue to offer free demonstrations and delicious giveaways in artist Rirkrit Tiravanija's outdoor installation, from June 23 to August 4.

Compost Collection with Western Queens Compost Initiative

The Western Queens Compost Initiative works to increase capacity for, participation in, and acceptance of composting in western Queens. The compost is then used to grow food, feed trees, and beautify public spaces!   


Ballard's Honey from Delaware County, New York 
J. Glebocki Farm Vegetables from Orange County, New York 
Gonzalez Farm Vegetables, Mexican specialty products, and strawberries from Orange County, New York.  
El Poblano Farm Vegetables and specialized Mexican herbs and vegetables from one of the last remaining farms in the city of New York, in Richmond County;
Hot Bread Kitchen Multi-ethnic artisan breads and tortillas from New York County, New York 
Hudson Valley Duck Farm Heritage breed ducks and duck products from Sullivan County, New York 
Red Jacket Orchard Orchard fruit and juice from Ontario County, New York  
Tamarack Hollow Farm pork and chicken from Orange County, Vermont
